Can You Find it? – Sewing Box is a 1:1 cognitive activity for the person in the early stages of living with dementia and designed by Sandra Bowen, a registered nurse/ dementia care educator with post-graduate qualifications in dementia care and gerontology. This portable little box of fabrics and haberdashery items is a resource for sorting and identification, utilising word and number recognition, recognition of familiar objects that may aid conversation and reminiscence around a familiar hobby.
Contents – two strips of fabric, 1 buckle, card of buttons or 5 single buttons, ric rac, a doily, ribbon, lace, bias binding, wool, 2 zips & elastic.
Size of box is approximately lunchbox size (may vary) and colours of contents may vary.
